Sandra McAulay – Personal Response
Sandra McAulay returned to our EdTech class with all the energy that she brought the first time and then some more! It was amazing to watch her teach and motivate our entire class, everyone was taking part in the activities that she brought with interest and engagement evident throughout the room. Sandra’s passion for EdTech and the examples of real resources for teachers to use makes the opportunity to watch and work with her a real gift.
I really appreciated how Sandra demoed apps and resources – I mean who doesn’t like going to school and playing? Also, it is one thing to hear about how good an app or tech resource is and another to actually try it out and imagine different ways that you could use it to support your learners; this is the thing that I appreciate most about working with Sandra, the hands on learning.
As a tactile learner myself, I want to get my hands on the technology and see how it reacts if I do things that I imagine my own learners would do with it – how will the tech act, will I feel frustrated, and if so, how can I imagine my learners solving the problems they might encounter?
